What to Expect
Welcome!
From the moment you walk through our doors, you will be treated as a valuable guest. We will greet you, show you around and answer any questions you might have. Our goal is to help you feel comfortable during your visit. During worship, you will have a chance to meet new friends, hear God's Word, join our choir or band in singing and praising God, experience the Lord's Supper and lift up in prayer your family and friends. Sunday morning services generally last an hour. |
Parking
Ample parking is available including handicapped parking at the south doors and reserved visitor parking at the north doors. Clothing Styles
You will see a wide range of dress at our services, from suits and ties to jeans and t-shirts. In the summer you'll even see a few folks in shorts and sandals. Prayers
A special part of the service is when we pray for our community, our neighbors, our families, our government and our world. You will be invited to speak the names of the people you would like to lift up in prayer. Some people pray silently, and some speak the names of loved ones who they wish to remember in prayer. The Message
You may refer to this as the sermon. You will hear a faith-based message that will touch on topics relevant to your life. Singing
Music and singing is a big part of our worship experience. Depending on the Sunday, you may hear one of our bands, our choir, or our bell choir perform. The band driven service tends to be more modern, featuring contemporary praise music while the choir service is more traditional, featuring beloved hymns played on the organ. You are welcome to join in the singing, while we praise God with our music and song. Communion
Believing in the real presence of Christ, Christ Lutheran Church practices eucharistic hospitality. All baptized persons are welcomed to Communion. Distribution. The ushers will guide you to come to the front of the church. Communion will be served in continuous fashion using intinction. You will receive a piece of bread (please ask if you prefer a gluten-free wafer) and then intinct (dip) it into the chalice on either side of the bread server. The chalices are divided into two sections. The larger section with the red/dark liquid is wine, and the smaller section with the clearer/amber liquid is grape juice. God is fully present in both the bread and the drink. You receive the full benefit of the sacrament, even if you partake of only one part. |
Handicap Access
Handicap access is available at the south doors of the church. When you enter the parking lot off of the Frontage Road, circle around the back of the church and you will see a ramp. Handicap parking is available at that location. Chair lifts will easily transport worshippers from the first floor to the lower level where many events are held, in addition to an expanded coffee hour after services. Worship Information
When you enter the sanctuary, you will be greeted by an usher and given a bulletin. This is the roadmap for the worship service. You will also be given a connection card. This is your opportunity to share your contact information and any prayer requests you may have. Children's Message
Children of all ages will be asked to go up and sit on the steps in the altar area to hear an age-appropriate message. Kids really enjoy this time, and the adults pay attention too! Scripture Reading
In 1st Timothy 4:13, Paul encouraged Timothy to devote himself to the public reading of Scripture. We celebrate God's messages by reading scripture during our Sunday worship service. Feel free to pick up a red Bible which is in in the small shelf in each pew. You are welcome to take the Bible home if you do not have your own copy of a Bible. Come and Experience Christ Lutheran Church
Feel free to ask questions and find out more about what we can offer you as a child of Christ. You are most welcome! We look forward to meeting you! |

We are all on a spiritual journey. Each of us is at a different point of the pathway, and yet we all walk that pathway. Sometimes that path is filled with hope, other times great need. Sometimes we are full of faith, and other times we are doubting where we are with God. We would love for you to join others on that spiritual path as we each look for meaning, hope and the encouragement that only faith can offer.
Being a member suggests developing relationships with others who also support the mission of the Church. We encourage people to develop some of those relationships through meeting people before, during and after worship, in Bible Studies and Prayer groups, and in opportunities to serve others. Each of these offers opportunities to grow in faith, while at the same time giving and receiving encouragement for others.
We don't require a long set of classes, but encourage you to meet with Pastor to make sure you feel comfortable with the beliefs of the church and our practices.
If you are interested in becoming a member of Christ Lutheran Church, you can indicate that on your Connection Card in worship, give us a ring, or send us an email and you will be contacted.
